About the Cabin Camp 2, also called Camp Mawavi, in the Prince William Forest Park

For 2025 we have confirmed reservations for October 10 – 12, 2025 in Cabin Camp 2.
Cabin Camp 2, Camp Mawavi, first hosted campers in 1937. For many years, Camp Mawavi, run by the Campfire Girls of America, operated out of this camp.
Cabins
The camp sleeps 148 visitors, and consists of approximately 132 acres. Cabin Camp 2 is set up in four units with cabins that sleeps 2 to 12 people.
In each cabin there are lights, electrical outlets, bunks and mattresses. Sleeping cabins do not have heat or air conditioning. Campers should bring all gear including bedding, pillows, and towels.
The units are clustered in a circular arrangement and contain 8 cabins, a bath house, and a lodge. Each unit is in a grassy clearing that is surrounded by dense forest.
Restrooms
There are five restrooms throughout the camp – one in A Unit, one in B Unit, one in C Unit, one in D Unit, and one behind the dining hall (Building 95). There are also restrooms located in the dining hall and infirmary. Campers are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing floors, shower stalls, sinks, and toilets. Plungers and toilet brushes are provided. Campers should bring hand soap, detergents, and other necessary toiletries. Toilet paper is provided.
The large ballfield and lake access in Camp 2 are among the best in the park. Cabin Camp 2 was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
Parking
Cabin Camp 2 has a designated parking area. One vehicle is permitted to remain at the dining hall throughout your encampment. If a member of your group has a vehicle with a handicap license plate or hangtag, they may park the vehicle at the dining hall. No other vehicles are authorized to remain parked at the dining hall or any other buildings within the cabin camp. Campers are allowed to park at the dining hall to unload vehicles, but once they unload, they must park in the designated parking area. No more than two vehicles can be parked behind the dining hall at one time. It is recommended that visitors carpool as much as possible.
